DSL G modem and ADSL N1 modem incompatibility?
Just got DSL connection which comes with a Netgear Wireless - G 54 Router. We already have a Belkin N1 Mimo Wireless Modem Router for ADSL. Tried to hook up the DSL feed cable to the Belkin, but the connector on the end of the cable is of a different type to that used by the Netgear.
DSL feed to the building and to us is fibre optic cable apparently.
First of all, will the Belkin ever work with our type of DSL feed, and secondly, if it will, is there some sort of adapter available so that I can put the incompatible connector into the ADSL port on the Belkin.
Reason for wanting to do this is that N1 grade routers have a much better signal range than G grade routers.

You should be able to run the Belkin off the Netgear. You can either have to separate wifi networks or disable the netgear wifi, here is your link, its a bit techie but it works.

essentially you have to turn off the DHCP protocol on th second router and set its base address outside tthe main routers DHCP range. You can then connect the ADSL router to the belkin via the LAN ports and switch off the wifi off the Netgear.
You will never be able to use an ADSL modem router directly of a DSL feed - they use different technologies.
