What is the difference between a graphics card with PCI express graphics and one without?
I'm thinking about two computers with 5770 HD Radeon graphic cards, but one has PCI express graphics and one doesn't.
The computer having the separate PCI-E slot for a graphic card means that the computer has a discrete graphics card and the graphics are not inbuilt into the motherboard which reduces the load on memory and CPU when playing games.
The computer having graphics without a PCI-E slot means it has an integrated graphics(inbuilt on the motherboard or the processor) which are not that good and loads the CPU and RAM when doing graphics related tasks.
What are the ways fix The PCI Express x1 Bug
Recently on internet I had read a view on fixing up The PCI Express x1 Bug. This was meant for the ASUS motherboard users. I am too a ASUS user and I overclock my processor many time while playing games. It is true that after overclocking I face low performance issue. I though that would be due to the overclocking. First how to determine that my motherboard has this bug. Second what are the impact of this bug on the motherboard. And lastly how to fix. Yes the issue with the PCI Express x1 on the motherboard. It is easy to determine that you motherboard too face the similar. You can use any third party software which gives out you the complete system information. Like I use CPU - Z. It is a freeware program can be downloaded from multiple sites. Run CPU - Z and then go Mainboard tab. In the motherboard details table you can go below under Graphic Interface column. The impact are various on the overall system performance. Like first you HD movies performance will be slowed down to a extent. The 3D performance of the system also gets weak due to this bug. And at the time of overclocking the bug gives you out problem of slow performance leaving the user under confusion of low down performance. You can try to enter BIOS and configure it back again to resolve the problem.
I had too faced the issue when I overclocked my system. I have a ASUS P5B mobo in my computer. The solution which fails when I tried the same is I had set the PCIE PCIE Bus Frequency to 96 MHz and then to 101 MHz. I had also updated the BIOS but not result. Then what I discovered that you can solve it by disabling the PEG Force X1. Or try to overclock/underclock the PCI Express to 15Mhz.
