change booting order? Q2?
okay, after finally getting my bios up, (yeah holding DEL did it, thanks everyone) and running around it like a headless chicken for a while, i've found out how to change the booting order.
but, alas, i cannot see my dvd drive! i have linux on a dvd-rom, and i need to make my computer oot from my dvd drive first... but it's giving me a choice of
floppy
ls120 (superdrive thingey)
hdd-0
scsi
cdrom
hdd-1
hdd-2
hdd-3
zip100
usb-fdd
usb-zip
usb-cdrom
usb-hdd
lan
disabled
my dvd player is connected internally, and it works just fine normally... so how can i get it to appear on this list?
if it helps, it's a phoenix award bios. i don't know if that'll make any difference, but better to err on the side of too much information.
i chose cdrom but it's still not booting from my disk. and suggestions would be helpful
It probably will not show your specific DVD player in the BIOS because the "criteria" there is preset in the chips and not an analysis of your hardware.
Just set it on CDROM and I think you'll be just fine. The CDROM setting is just a generic term for the CD/DVD drives.
Hope this helps.
