Age of Conan Level
When you reach certain levels in Age of Conan, you get advantages or special abilities. What are they, and at which level do you get them? Let's take a look.
You can see your skills by pressing 'P' (skills and Attributes) and by choosing the third tab: Skills. You get your first skills (bandaging and recovery) at level 2. Then, little by little, you get more skills. Some skills, like bandaging, are more or less useless some others, like climbing, are necessary. If you don't have climbing, you won't be able to climb up the volcano in Tortage. If you don't have points in casting concentration, your mage will be very easily interrupted while casting. If you don't have points in hiding, your rogue won't be able to stealth.
Each time you level up, check your skills and invest the necessary points where they are needed.
From level 5, you will have your first 20 fresh kills. This is reset at midnight GMT every day. That means that the next 20 mobs you kill of your level or higher will give you extra experience points. It has to be mobs. Minions won't count, and they have to be at least of your level or higher.
At level 10, you get your first feats. Then you will get one feat at each level and two feats each 10th level (20, 30, 40, etc.). You can see your feats by pressing 'N'. Each class has 3 feats trees, one general and two more specifics. Remember to invest your feat at each level from level 10.
From level 20, each time you kill a mob or hand in a quest, you will get Experience Points, and AA points. You need 1 million points to get your AA points that can be invested in Mastery, Expertise or Prowess. These are special talents. Mastery is related to PvE (Player versus Environment), Prowess is related to PvP (Player versus Player) and these are the same for all classes. They will give extra abilities: more immunity to stun, more resistance to magic, etc. Then in the middle, the Expertise points. They are class specific. Of course, when you are just level 20, you gain very few points of AA for each kill, but it goes better with the level and when you are level 80, you can almost gain a level of mastery just in a couple of hours in a dungeon in Khitai.
At level 80 you can train AA while offline too. All Alternate Advancement can be trained using time. In the picture, you can see that I still need 62 hours to finish training the feat I am training now. Besides the time, my kills are counting, so you can train feats in both ways at the same time.
You need the extension Godslayer before having Alternate Advancement, and it will only begin to count at the time when you have the extension.
Also at level 20, you can take your first professions. Any harvesting profession can be taken at this level and you can have them all. There are six harvesting professions: Mining, skinning, prospecting, woodcutting, weaving and stonecutting.
From level 30, you can begin to use your offline levelling. In Age of Conan, you get one free level every fourth day of paid time, whether you are playing or not. You can keep them and put them all on one character or distribute them between any of your character who is at least level 30. This is how one of my assassins went from level 30 to level 64 in a matter of seconds. I use offline levelling if there is some quest that bothers me too much, so I can go on, or if I am a bit too low level to take a quest I really want. However, it can also be used when you are levelling an alt and need to level quick.
From level 40, you can ride. Yeah! The last levels before your mount are a real pain. When you reach 30 - 35, you begin really to be tired of running around (good excuse to use off-line levelling by the way).
At level 40, you can also learn two crafting professions. There are five possible crafting professions: Weaponsmith, armorsmith, alchemist, architect and gemcutter. You can choose two of those. From level 40 and each 10 level, your crafting or gathering profession will be possible to level. Except crafting professions, which have one more level at 75.
From level 50, you can make one more character at level 50 for free. If you have one level 50 or higher, when you make your next character, at the end, just before entering game, you will have the possibility to make this character a level 50. If you answer yes, your character will be made with full gear and 1.50 gold. Beware: For some strange reason, you appear in the main city of your race, and you appear totally naked. Your gear will be in your bag. This is very embarrassing, I think.
Level 60 is the level where warrior class can wear full plate. A very important moment in a warrior's life.
From level 77 you will be able to go in your first raids and begin to gather your epic items that you will be able to use at 80.
At level 78, if you have the extension Godslayer, you can begin to quest in Khitai. A really nice place, with a lot of funny quests and the different factions and their grind.
At level 80, you will be able to train your AA with time. You can use swift horses and quick riding. At this level, a whole new life in Khitai with all its grind, its gear, its factions, its epic dungeons and raids is waiting for you.
